22 June- Operation Barbarossa begins
29 June- Wehrmacht troops enter Lviv
July- A series of antisemitic pogroms takes place throughout Lviv carried out by local non-Jews
3 July- Professor Aktion; victims shot in the Lyczakow Forest
31 July- Heydrich tasked with preparing for the Final Solution
August- Mohwinkel and Gebauer arrive in Lviv to set up DAW
1 August- Distrikt Galizien created under governor Karl Lasch
8 August- Friedrich Katzmann appointed SS and Police Leader for Distrikt Galizien
31 October- DAW-Lemberg sealed
November- Gustav Willhaus becomes deputy commandant of the DAW-L to Fritz Gebauer
1 November- Construction begins on the Bełżec extermination center, the destination for the majority of Lviv Jews
8 November- Lviv Jews ordered to move into a ghetto north of the city.
1942
January- Adolf Kolonko arrives in the camp with a group of Trawniki guards
6 January- Otto Wächter becomes governor of Distrikt Galizien
February- Heinrich Himmler orders construction of the Durchgangstrasse IV highway which would be built largely with Jewish slave labor from Galicia
17 March- March Aktion begins; First transport of Lviv Jews murdered in Bełżec; Bełżec camp opens.
May- Zwangsarbeitslager-Lemberg (ZAL-L) under Willhaus operational
5 June- Kurt May visit to Lviv and DAW-L
18 June- Bełżec temporarily closed for upgrades to the gas chambers
Late June- Blitz Aktion in the ghetto targeting elderly and those incapable of work
7 July- Bełżec reopens for operation
10 August- Great Aktion begins in Lviv ghetto which would result in the murder of ca. 50,000 Lviv Jews.
17 August- Heinrich Himmler arrives in Lviv and tours Janowska camp.
18 November- W & R Aktion in the Lviv ghetto targets Jews without proper work permits deported to Bełżec via Janowska
Mid-December- Killing operations cease at Bełżec.
1943
5-7 January- Ghetto Aktion sends ca. 15,000 Lviv Jews to be killed in Sobibor and/or Janowska
February- Jürgen Stroop becomes SS and Police Leader for Lviv
February- Women's section established in ZAL-L
March- Schwarz Aktion murders ca. 3,000 Jews in Janowska
Late May- Final liquidation of the Lviv ghetto; ca. 12,000 murdered in the Janowska Camp
30 June- Katzmann delivers his Katzmann Report noting the murder of 434,329 Jews and declaring Distrikt Galizien “Judenfrei” (free of Jews)
25 October- Partial liquidation of the Janowska camp
7 November- Heinrich Himmler orders liquidation of remaining camps and ghettos in the General Government.
19 November- Revolt by prisoners in the camp and in the Sonderkommando 1005
1944
13 January- the ZAL-L officially becomes a subcamp of the Majdanek camp
19 July- Janowska camp evacuated
27 July- Lviv liberated by the Soviet Red Army
